Website ownership consists of several different things. The domain, your business’s own materials, the technical implementation and hosting are not the same thing.
In GC’s website service, your own domain and the logo, photos and business materials you provide remain under your control. Golden Consulting Oy owns the source code it produces in the service and is responsible for the technical implementation, hosting and maintenance. The website is available to you as part of an ongoing website service.
The advantage of this model is that you do not need to manage the source code, hosting or technical maintenance yourself.
What stays with you, and what does GC handle?

Why can the provider be responsible for the technical implementation?
In the service model, GC retains control of the source code and technical environment. For the customer, this means the same provider remains responsible for the website’s operation after launch.
In GC’s service, the same provider:
- plans the website
- writes the website copy using your business information
- builds and launches the pages
- manages hosting
- handles technical maintenance
- fixes technical faults
- helps with small content changes
Your business does not need to set up its own technical maintenance process or find a new provider for every change.
What happens after the first 12 months?
The initial contract term is 12 months. After that, the service continues month to month and can be cancelled with one month’s notice.
If you want to continue the service, the website, hosting, maintenance and support continue as normal. You do not need to start a new website project just because the initial contract term ends.

What if the service is eventually ended?
Your own domain and the original materials you provide remain yours.
Because GC’s technical implementation and hosting are part of the ongoing website service, any technical handover or move to another implementation is agreed separately. If this matters to you, it can be discussed before ordering.
An important practical point is that your own domain is not tied to one website implementation. Another website can be published on the same domain later if the service changes.
How do you keep control of your domain?
Your domain should be under your business’s control. GC can connect your existing domain to the new pages, but domain registration and renewal fees are the customer’s own costs.
Keep at least the following information:
- the domain registrar
- management account details
- who is responsible for renewal
- email service details
